Alison Lloyd’s practice involves walking alone, for considerable distances, keeping off the paths, striding and ‘contouring’ through moorland and mountainous areas.  Through a passage of movement incorporating walking and dancing Lloyd has documented elements of her life since the late 1970s.  In 2014 she installed ‘Grains’ at TG Gallery. Alison is also a PhD Scholar at Loughborough University, School of Art.  Her area of research is Walking, Women and Art. Recent exhibitions and projects include 'Walking Encyclopedia' at Airspace, Stoke-on-Trent; 'Concrete & Lemons', Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, Sunderland and 'Solitary Contouring the North Stairs and the Long Gallery – Night Time' , a photographic series installed upon Nottingham Castle North Stairs.
